ORK STOMPAS

he pinnacle of Orkish destruction and stompiness is, not surprisingly, a Stompa. This steel behemoth has a mighty 4 Structure Points (one higher than the puny humie Baneblade). This means that a Stompa can potentially absorb a punishing amount of firepower, which allows the Boyz to close. But any Ork worth his "killa reputation" is far more interested in dishing it out than taking it and that's fine, as the Stompa is literally bristling with weapons. The Primary Weapon is the Deth Kannon which fires the 7"Massive Blast template. As the weapon is Ordnance that big ol' template has to land somewhere and Strength 10 and AP1 is going to cause someone a big hurt! Linked to the Deth Kannon is the coaxial Supa Gatler, which is possibly the most fun-to-fire weapon in the game (and coincidentally, one of the most feared). In classic Orkish style the Supa-Gatler fires ALL its ammo in one turn. In game play this is represented by continuous fire until you roll a double. With a little luck and a target-rich environment this can be ridiculously powerful (and mad-cackling good fun for the Ork player!). Add in a bucketful of Big-shootas, three one-shot Supa-Rokkits, and a Supa-Skorcha and you have plenty of shooty-death to deal out. But don't forget that the Stompa is a Super-heavy walker – basically an enormous Dreadnought – and that means it is dead fighty too.
The Stompa has a Titan close combat weapon too, which comes with the aptly named Destroyer special rule. In non-game terms this means normal vehicles don't have a chance of survival and even Titans and other super heavies better not stray too close. Add in the bonus of the Stompa making all Orks within 12" Fearless and its transport capacity of carrying 20 models and you have a highly riveted bucket of destruction worthy of Gork (or possibly Mork). There are other Stompa variants – the power-field protected Big Mek's Stompa with its devastating Lifta-Droppa or the streamlined Go-Fasta Stompa of the Evil Sunz or the heavy Maula employed by the Goffs, but you'll have to wait to hear more about them.
