A DARK STARS CAMPAIGN WEEKEND REPORT
Here is a report of the Return to Damocles Campaign Weekend which was held in Warhammer World in March 2004. Three hobbyists prepared an army each for the event. Read about their experiences in this article.
On the 20th & 21st March 2004 the Return to Damocles campaign weekend took place. It allowed Tau and Eldar players to pit their forces against Space Marine and Imperial Guard players in a series of battles. The outcome of this conflict and others like it may yet determine the future of the Damocles Gulf, the disputed zone between the burgeoning Tau Empire and the antiquated hegemony of the Imperium. In particular the two sides will be fighting over Dal'yth Prime, the planet on which the last Imperial incursion into the Tau Empire stalled.
This series of articles focuses on the preparation that three hobbyists underwent in order to take part in the weekend. Jon Carter had been a long term Imperial Guard player, with a finished army that just needed dusting off and tweaking in order to play; Owen Rees was halfway through completion of his Imperial Guard Drop Troops force; and Dave Allen, usually an Ork player, was using the campaign to give him an excuse to put together an army of Tau.
