WHAT ARE CAMPAIGN WEEKENDS?

Campaign weekends involve many elements of warfare from juggling resources to devising a plan of attack. These weekends put players and their armies in allied teams that play on one side of a story line, which could be anything from Merchant Princes, to marauding Orcs in the wastes of Angmar.

The Return to Damocles Campaign

Each Campaign weekend is conducted to allow players to shape a storyline within certain boundaries, for instance the defence of a planet against Tyranid invasion. Each of our three main game systems, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Warhammer 40,000 and The Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game, have a dedicated campaign system that adapts and changes slightly, depending on the storyline of the Campaign in question.

The main difference in Campaigns in relation to other gaming events, is that they will not always be fair and straightforward. Due to conditions and player choices a number of special rules may be applied to the games, and some poor unfortunates may find themselves ganged up on by two enemy forces! But with this also comes a little freedom, with some campaigns allowing the use of Appendix or Chapter Approved lists and/or units that would not be usable in a lot of the tournaments. In addition, the focus of gameplay is on relaxed and fun gaming, so poor sportsmanship may be heavily penalised. All in all, these make for great fun weekends in which your forces activities shape the outcome of the story you are involved with.
