CHAOS SPACE MARINE TERRAIN SHOWCASE
It is easy to identify where Chaos Space Marines are or have recently been; just look for signs of destruction! Examine the Studio Hobby Team's ruined terrain to get ideas for making your own.

efore creating the awe-inspiring terrain for the Chaos Space Marine codex, the Studio Hobby Team (Dom Murray, Dave Andrews, Mark Jones, Neil Hodgson, and Chad Mierzwa), sat down and came up with a few points to guide them during the project. They were:
"The major enemy of Chaos is the Imperium. Most battles will take place on Imperial planets. We need to build up the tragedy of Battle Brother fighting Battle Brother."
"Chaos should be shown to be an utterly destructive force. Rubble, death, defiled shrines, ruined outposts, pollution, murder, kill, kill."
"This is a great opportunity to add to the existing terrain based on the 40K building kits. We should be showing Chaos rampaging across planets, through cities, and crushing their foes."
With these ideas in mind, the Studio Hobby Team sat down with Gav Thorpe and came up with the following terrain pieces.
