CHAOS BARRICADES

As an invading force that destroys anything in its path, we felt that some truly horrid barricades would be fun to build. In game terms, they act as linear obstacles. The idea was that the Chaos forces would drop these onto the battlefield and, whilst being used defensively, can also seriously hurt anyone unlucky enough to get in their way. You'd think twice about assaulting such a spiky terrain piece. We made the barricades by building discs out of foamcore, with relief work added using thin card. We made the spikes from the triangular lamps from the 40K building kits. We added Citadel razorwire for extra effect. For the rust, we stippled Bestial Brown, Vermin Brown, and Blazing Orange over a Chaos Black undercoat. We finished it off by drybrushing the edges Boltgun Metal.
