MAKING A CITY TO BATTLE OVER
There's nothing better than fighting a game of Warhammer 40,000 with a fully painted army over a really cool battlefield. Battlezone Cityfight offers you a great opportunity to try your hand at collecting and building an impressive cityscape to fight your battles over. Where do you begin?
The best place to start is the Battlezone Cityfight book itself. It contains all the rules and scenario ideas you need to start fighting in an urban setting straight away. However you do need a cityscape to fight your battles in. The book is full of great ideas and suggestions for making terrain for Cityfighting games. To get you started there are loads of great modelling projects using everyday materials you find lying around. As you get more adventurous you can use the Masterclass techniques by Dave Andrews and Mark Jones. By adding a few finishing touches to your models you can turn a good looking piece of terrain into a great one.
MORE MODELLING IDEAS
Over the next few weeks there will be links to more articles
about terrain collecting and making. There's already a handy guide
to what tools
work best on what materials. We've got details of ready-made
terrain models you can buy
so you can start fighting battles right away. Although you can buy your terrain,
one of the most challenging things to do is to build terrain for your battlefield
out of card, polystyrene and other modelling materials. Once you've made a
start making terrain this way, it's not long before you've got more terrain
than you know what to do with! We'll be uploading loads of articles on collecting
and making terrain; we're running a special competition all about making terrain,
judged by Dave Andrews and Mark Jones; there are also PDFs of signs, templates
and other modelling stuff to help you make your terrain look really special.
There's also a news article about how the 'Eavy Metal team painted an entire Imperial Guard army in a week! This includes the army list and also Top Tips for painting camouflage.
