Walking with Giants
HOW TO MAKE THEMED GIANT BASES

Since Giants can serve in almost every Warhammer army, many players will want to match their bases with the rest of their force. This article showcases a variety of Giant bases with different themes.

BASING YOUR WARHAMMER GIANT

This unfortunate Goblin just wasn't quick enough...
The release of the new plastic Giant opens up the door to a plethora of modelling possibilities. Just about every army in the Warhammer range (with the exception of only a few) can take Giants under the Dogs of War rules. We thought it might be fun to create several different bases to give you a few ideas of what can be done to theme out the different armies.

It's important to note that having the legs and feet built before you start on your base is really important for these projects. They will help you position any items you might use on the base so that you have room for the Giant's large feet.

The new plastic Giant also includes a new size of base, which is 50 mm x 75 mm (too big for us to show at actual scale on these pages). If you don't want to use the pre-textured base that comes on the Giant sprue, you can always make one by supergluing a cavalry base to a 50 mm square base and filling in the gaps with Green Stuff. Almost all of the bases in this article were made in this way.

Hopefully, these few examples will spur you to create your own Giant bases. The new Giant is already incredibly versatile, and by customising your Giant's base, you can guarantee your model will be even more unique.
