DWARFS TURN 2

With "Bert" coming toward them, and no Giants trying to sneak down the right table edge, the Troll Slayers wheeled again to completely seal off the right side of the table. Now, four Giants were trapped by the Dwarfs.

On the right, the Longbeards abandoned the gap and wheeled to face "Nicole" and "Ernie" head-on. They moved up so that one of the Giants was in charge range, but not both of them.

As for the rest of the army, the Ironbreakers and the General moved up 6", while the Warriors and Dragon Slayer only moved 4" so the Cannon could be fired.

The Cannon fired and had potential, but the shot got no bounce and fell right in front of a sweating Giant (Bert). The Thunderers fired but were over their reduced range of 12".

GIANTS TURN 2

Playing quite aggressively, "Nathan" (the player and the Giant) charged into the Warriors. The Warriors passed their Terror test and stood their ground. "Eric" moved up and would be able to charge the Cannon next round...

Nathan moved another Giant right past the Ironbreakers and placed him in front of the unit of Thunderers. It was a risky move, but "Stu's" close proximity meant that they would not be able to stand & shoot when he charged in Turn 3.

Nathan then sent "Nicole" in to crush the Longbeards. "Ernie" would then move up to assist in the next turn, or continue on his merry way if "Nicole" destroyed the unit of Longbeards.

On the right side, Nathan moved "Bert" 8" toward the Troll Slayers. This Giant was now very close to the Slayers and seemed to be taunting them.

Combat time! Things started off well for Nathan when "Nicole" swung her club and splattered three Longbeards. The unit champion would have none of it and returned with 2 of his own Wounds, courtesy of his great weapon and excellent rolls by Ken. The Stubborn Giant ran for his life when Nathan rolled an 11 on his Break test. The stumpy legs of the Dwarfs only managed to go 2" and the Giant would live to fight another day.

In the middle of the table, it was "Nathan" (the Giant) against Ken's unit of 12 Warriors. Again, Nathan rolled Swing with Club and he slew three Warriors. Like his elder role model, the Warrior unit champion struck back with a single Wound. The Dwarfs won again, but this Giant would not run away. Ken wrapped Dwarfs around the left side of the Giant but left the right bare so the Dragon Slayer could charge next turn.
