Though he was probably tall enough just to step over, this Giant decided to walk through the farm fence. Unfortunately for him, his big club got stuck in the mud while he smashed through.

After cutting and sanding the hardboard base, cut out several lengths of balsa wood planks and rods. Glue these pieces together to form your fence, and then fix it to the base with superglue and Green Stuff. Add the broken section of the fence by snapping a few planks and rods into pieces and placing them on the base. Next, add the footprints by putting down a layer of Green Stuff and pushing in a Giant foot. You'll have to use a sculpting tool to clean up the print. Add another gob of putty and press in the club. Use the sculpting tool to make a furrow behind the club to imply dragging, and you're ready to begin painting.

The dead cow on the Giant sprue belongs on a farm, so we had to put it to use here. Giants are big and hungry, and they apparently have a taste for beef. If they found a cow in a farmer's field, you can guarantee that they'd turn it into a fresh snack.

Make the sign out of balsa wood in a similar fashion as you did with the fence. Use your hobby knife to score details into the balsa like nicks and wood grain. For the wound the cow has sustained, use your clippers and knife to gouge out a bite in its side (watch your fingers). Next, roll out a narrow cable of Green Stuff and press it into the gap like intestines. Drape this cable over the sign and wrap it around the plastic pitch fork from the Giant sprue. Make the footprints just like you did for the fence.

If you build it... Giants will take a nap in it. Obviously, the Giant who left this mark in the field had a bit too much to drink from that barrel of ale. It looks like he shook it off, though.

The key here is to find one of those straw doormats, preferably one with a vinyl or rubber backing to keep it from shredding when you work with it. Draw a Giant-sized outline and footprints on the back of the mat to serve as your guide for cutting. With your hobby knife, carefully cut out your outline. With a little trimming, you should now have a Giant impression in the middle of your field.

Attach the mat to your hardboard base with superglue. Once it dries, apply some modelling clay to blend the mat in with the base. Don't forget to make the impression in the field look like a Giant fell there, and consider making wagon ruts for added detail. Cut out a small divot in the top of the field for the ale barrel near the Giant's hand. For the scarecrow, glue together two dowels and sculpt it some clothes with Green Stuff. Cut off some straw from the extra mat pieces you have and glue it to the sleeves.

TOP TIP:
Avoid spray paint for this piece – the straw looks good on its own.
