SCENARIO AND BATTLE REPORTS
The new Giant model dwarfs even the mighty Ogres. A lone Giant can decide the course of the battle with its sheer size and power, imagine what a crew of five could do! This Warhammer scenario lets you explore that terrifying notion, and the two battle reports show you what you can expect.

In the Giant's corner is Nathan Bishop, the newest member of the Black Gobbo team. Nathan comes to us all the way from the Grapevine Mills GW Hobby Centre located in Texas. He was added to the team to help do the hobby bidding of all you Black Gobbo fans out there, so send us spirit-crushing project ideas that you would like to see Nathan break himself upon (or easy ones if you want to be nice).
Playing for the Ogres is Dave Taylor. Dave is a member of the US Promotions Department, and has contributed to numerable articles for the glorious web and the good ol' Stunty magazine. The last time we saw Dave's Ogre army, they were getting a righteous whipping from my Dwarfs in the final instalment of the Against the Ogres campaign. Sorry, Dave; I just had to mention that.
Which brings me to the Dwarf player in the battle report below: me, Ken Kennedy. My Dwarfs haven't seen combat in a while, so this battle should be exciting. Plus, my record with Dwarfs against big uglies like Ogres is pretty good, so Giants should be easy. Right?
ON PLAYTESTING
The Against the Giants scenario has a lot of variables to it, so we decided to test it a couple of times to work out the kinks. Giants are random, unpredictable monsters that cost over 200 points each. It is difficult to say what one will do in a battle. Also, since there is no Giants army, fielding a bunch of them was an alien concept and even more crazy than having them in your regular army as a Rare troop choice. Lastly, it occurred to us that pitting them against the Ogre Kingdoms army – a fairly new force – required some study.
You will notice that in the first battle report, Nathan has a mere four Giants to deal with Dave's powerful Ogre force. However, in the second game, we changed this number to six Giants to pound my Dwarfs. After the first battle, it became evident that four was not enough, and one more Giant would likely do the trick. However, I wanted to push the limits of the scenario to see how an army (especially my mighty Dwarf army) would fare against six Giants. I'll let you be the judge.
Now that all of that has been explained in more detail than what's necessary, on to the battles!
