PAINTING LEOPARD SKINS

Many mercenaries wear the pelts of exotic animals, in particular the men of Leopold's Leopard Company.

Leopard Skin

Click on the images below to see a larger picture of each stage.

Stage 1: After priming with Chaos Black paint apply a mix of equal parts Golden Yellow, Blazing Orange and Bubonic Brown to the leopard skin.

Stage 2: Apply a mix of two parts Golden Yellow to one part each of Blazing Orange and Bubonic Brown as the first highlight to the raised areas.

Step 3: Add more Golden Yellow to the mix for the next highlight.

Step 4: Paint straight Golden Yellow onto the very edges of the highlights. As you can see this makes the skin appear vibrant and glossy.

Step 5: Paint spots of Chaos Black all over the skin. The spots can be various sizes, but should get smaller and fade into obscurity on the paws, head and tail.

Step 6: Apply a mix of one part Chaos Black to three parts Codex Grey to highlight the spots. Simply dab the colour into the middle of each spot.
