A CAMPAIGN FOR DWARF SLAYERS
Ironically, the units of Slayers in many Dwarf armies rarely find the death they seek due to their general's caution. This series of scenarios, by Ken Kennedy, rectifies that with reckless combat.
norri and his companions had dodged rockfalls, traversed bottomless chasms, and navigated endless ruined tunnels, but finally they were in the heart of the Underway where the enemies of the Dwarfs could be found massing. This was where Slayers truly belonged, in the collapsed halls of the Ungrin hunting and killing colossal beasts – not on the sunny battlefields above where death arrives by arrow shaft. Down here was a noble death, grappling with a deadly opponent!
The short life of a Dwarf Slayer is a tough one. In large games of Warhammer, that life is often an unrewarding one, as Slayers rarely get the deaths that they so desperately desire. Seldom does a unit of Slayers get to go head-to-head with the monsters that they deserve to hunt. Instead, they are used as speed bumps to protect the open flank of the Dwarf army.
To remedy this indignity, we present here a five-scenario mini-campaign that will pit your Slayers against all manner of fiendish enemies. Not only are these scenarios designed to give your Slayers the opportunity to battle it out with monstrous creatures, but they are organised to allow players without a unit of Slayers to gradually create one. The first scenario, "A Slayer is Born!", requires only a single model to get started! Each scenario requires a few more Slayers, so when you reach the fifth scenario, you've got a complete Slayer warband (or a couple of Slayer units).
PLAYING THE SLAYER CAMPAIGN
Any number of players can take part in the Slayer campaign, but at least one of them must either have Slayer models or the desire to build and paint enough Slayers to play these scenarios. Having multiple players who have Slayers or want to paint a few is always a bonus.

A Dwarf Doomseeker battles with two |
The only matter of importance is how well you do when playing the Slayers. At the end of every scenario, there is an explanation of how to tabulate victory points for the game that has just taken place. Keep careful track of these points, as you will need them to determine the overall winner of the campaign. Once everyone has played all 5 of the scenarios as the Slayers, use each player's total victory points to determine a winner of the campaign. The player with the highest total number of victory points should be hailed as the Slayer King and given a cool crown and cape. If you have neither of these items, a round of cheering and hardy handshakes will have to do.
NO SLAYERS? USE OTHER ARMIES
Don't have Slayers or a desire to paint some? Well, on behalf of all Dwarf players, I say, "shame on you!" Okay, now that you're feeling bad, I'll let you in on a little secret. You can play these scenarios with any Warhammer army (although it won't be nearly as cool). Listed in the Models Needed section of each scenario are the points and limitations that you should use if you are using other armies. Oh, and if you don't use Slayers for your campaign, the winner just gets the hardy handshakes – no cheers.
THE SLAYER ARMY OF KARAK KADRIN
Warhammer Armies: Storm of Chaos brought us the all-Slayer force known as the Slayer Army of Karak Kadrin. If you want to add a bit of spice to this Slayer Campaign, feel free to use any/all of the elements from this alternate army list. I'd recommend using the Slayer Skills and the rules for the Doomseekers and Brotherhood of Grimnir troops. They will give you a bit of variety when you form your forces for the later scenarios. You can download the Slayer Army rules here.
