ELDAR
KILL-TEAMS
The Eldar are amongst the deadliest warriors in the galaxy when their Warhosts mobilise, but how would smaller, tactical units fair alone? This article explores using different Aspect Warriors as Eldar Kill-teams.
The Warrior Path, being one of the most complex vocations open to the Eldar, is further subdivided into distinct ways known as Warrior Aspects. They represent the facets of the Eldar war god Khaine, with each Aspect having its own fighting techniques, weapons, and abilities. The Eldar adhering to a particular Aspect are masters of their chosen style of combat. Therein lies the strength of the Aspect Warriors, and their weakness.
When used in support of each other or against their chosen prey, the Aspect Warriors are absolutely devastating. Dark Reapers, for instance, can shred light infantry before the enemy can even get off a shot. Yet, if caught in close combat, the Reapers lose their best advantage and become very expensive fighters with few Attacks. Thus, Dark Reapers are best used in concert with close-combat Aspects like the Howling Banshees or Striking Scorpions.
Understanding this principle on a theoretical level is one thing, but understanding it on a tactical level comes from gaming experience. How close can Dark Reapers get to the enemy before they get in trouble? How effective are Fire Dragons at taking out armour? Only repeated games of Warhammer 40,000 will answer those questions and turn you into a master of Eldar Aspects.
