WALKING THE WALK
As I write this, my good friend and fellow Eldar player Ant Reynolds is sticking together yet another War Walker for his burgeoning Biel-Tan army. That is because every time he has used them recently, they have caused utter carnage. Ant's weapon of choice is the Scatter Laser, upgraded to a Heavy 4 weapon in the new Codex – a full squad of Ant's War Walkers can throw out 24 Strength 6 shots each turn. More often than not, he Guides them with his Farseer so that he can average 18 hits! You should see what that can do to a Tyranid horde...it's not pretty. Of course, every Eldar heavy weapon has a speciality, just like the Eldar warriors. With the War Walkers, you can really heap on the pressure by taking lots of the same type of weapon: very few tanks can survive six Brightlance shots, and as we have mentioned, War Walkers can tear the heart out of a numerically superior army in a couple of turns.

BRIGHT LANCEEldar laser weapons use psychically grown crystals to filter and refine laser bursts to their optimum potency. Many Eldar consider the laser weapon the most elegant of all, exulting in the fact that their technological mastery extends even to light itself. |
