A Hero's Worth
A WARHAMMER SCENARIO

Heroic characters are normally very useful to have on your side when it comes time to face the enemy. However, there are circumstances when having a few powerful leaders becomes even more essential. For example, when the honour of the army must be determined by the outcome of a clash between champions. In such encounters, having brave warriors to lead and represent the army is a must!

The Army of Middenland

ARMIES

Players should choose their armies to an agreed points total and use Warhammer army lists.

BATTLEFIELD

This battle takes place in a forested area. Players should use the standard battlefield setup (p. 2 of the Warhammer rulebook), with the exception that you should set up two to three forests of 4-6" diameter among the terrain deployed. Also, scatter random trees around the board edge to give the feeling that the battle is taking place in a glade surrounded by woods.

DEPLOYMENT

Use the standard deployment (as described on p. 2 of the Warhammer rulebook).

WHO GOES FIRST?

Both players roll a D6. The player with the highest score may choose to go first or second (reroll ties).

LENGTH OF GAME

This game lasts 6 turns, or until one side surrenders.

SPECIAL RULES

The Challenge. It has been decided that before the battle commences, a champion from each side will face off in single combat. Players must choose one of their Heroes (not Lords) and place the model in the middle of the battlefield, 6" apart from each other. Roll a D6 to determine who gets the charge, and fight rounds of combat until one hero is out of action. This fallen hero is out of the battle between the armies before it has even begun. The winning Hero heals 1 Wound if he was injured in the solo combat, and he rejoins his army before the game continues as normal.

VICTORY CONDITIONS

Victory Points are awarded as normal.
