Dan Abnett

This was Dan's 10th year at Games Day. "It's great to see all the people who enjoy the books," he said. "And I always end up overrunning in the signing area. Normally I go through at least 1 pen per signing session." He has ended up signing some strange things in the past, the strangest thing of all this year being a hand made bolt pistol. "I've also been asked to sign a stick grenade in the past." At the Epson store opening earlier this year he ended up signing lots of right shoes!

James Swallow

This was James' 4th year at Games Day and he still can't get over how big it is. "There are loads of people all wanting me to sign stuff for them." The strangest thing James has been asked to sign was a bloke's belly. "Everyone I spoke to really enjoys the books, but of course, everyone wants to know what will happen next," he smiles.

Duane Redhead

Duane has just started as an artist for the Black Library and some of his work can already be seen in the new Inquisitor art book. When we caught up with him, he'd been at the event for a couple of hours and hadn't managed to see even half of the highlights, such was the size of the event!

Nick Kyme

Nick has been to Games Day quite a few times both with White Dwarf and now with the Black Library. Although his latest novel will be out later this year, Nick doubts there will be as much demand for his autograph as there is for Dan Abnett's. "There's always a amazing buzz at Games Day, I always enjoy it." The strangest thing Nick has been asked to sign was not that strange really, as it was a copy of the Realms of Chaos book.

Ben Counter

Ben has been coming to Games Day since he was a child and is amazed that the event is constantly getting bigger. He often enters the Golden Demon painting competition, but has never won a trophy in the UK. That said, he is not without talent, having won a bronze trophy at the German show. "This year I managed to have a good look around, and even entered the Scrap Demon conversion competition." The strangest thing Ben has been asked to sign was someone's forehead and a cardboard power fist.

Graeme McNeil

"Games Day is Mad in a really good way," says Graeme. "The event seems to get bigger and busier each year." The strangest thing he has ever been asked to sign was a tiny match stick model at Games Day Germany. Like many of his fellow Black Library authors, Graeme has been asked to sign a number of body parts in the past including arms, foreheads and 'other' areas that he won't talk about.

Mitchel Scanlon

The author of Descent of Angels, the latest installment of the Horus Heresy series, Mitchel has been to Games Day in the past but this was his first at the Birmingham NEC. He was amazed at the size of the event and that it was still growing. He always loves to see the fans of the Horus Heresy books. "I get the most amount of questions about what will happen next in the series, and these are always a good indication of what people want in future books." The strangest thing Mitchel has been asked to sign was a mock up lasgun.
