PAINTING

There are many, many ways to paint an Ent. There's such a myriad of tree types out there in nature to inspire you. Thus, to sit here and declare that there was only one way to paint an Ent would be ridiculous. Still, I guess everyone has to start somewhere. So, to get your brain going, here are but two basic step-by-step painting guides on Ent bark. Use them as a springboard to formulate your own ideas, or use them as is.

SIMPLE OAK BARK

1. First, apply a heavy drybrush of Scorched Brown over a Chaos Black undercoat.

2. Then, apply a drybrush of Bestial Brown to the entire Ent model.

3. Finally, highlight the edges of the bark with a light drybrush of Vomit Brown.

SIMPLE SILVER BARK

1. Start off with a liberal basecoat of Graveyard Earth.

2. Next, apply a wash of Brown Ink all over the model.

3. Once the ink dries, drybrush with Fortress Grey.
