Step 1 |
Cover up the carved foam surface with plaster bandages (available at most art and craft stores). The texture of these bandages will help the plaster stick in the next step. Allow the bandages to set before moving on to Step 2. |
|
Step 2 |
Mix up a large quantity of plaster and brush a thick layer onto the cliff face. Press a crumpled piece of aluminum foil into the still-wet plaster. This process creates a rough, cracked surface that will be much more rock-like than just the bandaged surface.

Step 3 |
To simulate a sealed tomb, use varying-sized rounded stones and white PVA woodworking glue to construct a crudely built stone wall made from large boulders. Locate a concave section in the wall. This alcove will become your tomb. Apply a line of glue to the MDF base. Lay down your first row of stones while keeping them as tightly packed as possible. Continue this process until you have reached the top of the pink insulation foam. Note: In the image above, you can see the glue between the rocks. You can see it because it isn't dry yet – it dries clear (albeit a little shiny). |
