Ben: Many, many years ago Games Workshop released the eagerly anticipated Warhammer Fantasy Boxed Set – the first of its kind in that it not only contained the rules but two small armies. Ah, those were the days, thousands of tiny Goblins all posed in such a manner as to impale your fingers on their needlepoint spears no matter how you approached them... and then there was the cardboard picture of the Wolf Chariot – pure gold. However the crowning glory, the pièce de résistance, was rank upon rank of proud High Elves – I was smitten.

And then I grew up – I gave every bit of wargames paraphernalia away. Career, travel, marriage, hair loss and irritability followed, yet somewhere in my juvenile heart nestled a miniature plastic High Elf awaiting the opportunity to re-emerge and stir the wargaming cravings anew.

Three years ago, I saw the stunning The Lord of The Rings models in a window and it didn't take too much convincing to immerse myself in the Hobby all over again. I painted Hobbits, Black Templars, Dwarves, Chaos, churning out armies to make up for all those wasted years without a paintbrush in my grasp. Yet the High Elves beckoned and finally I succumbed to my first love of Warhammer – pointy hats, pointy spears and pointy ears.
