GOLDEN HELMETS

Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 3 Stage 4

1

High Elves are known for their gilded armour. For this Helmet, we started with a basecoat of a 2:1 mix of Shining Gold and Scorched Brown. Mixing other colours with metallics can sometimes give a good result, creating a metallic colour that was previously unavailable.

2

For the next step, wash the helmet with Flesh Wash. This will make the details stand out a bit better. Once the wash has dried, highlight the helmet with straight Shining Gold.

3

Next, go over the edges of the helmet with Burnished Gold. As you paint each successive highlight, it's important to remember not to just cover over the previous highlight. You want to leave enough of the previous highlight showing so that it creates a blending effect.

4

Lastly, with a 1:1 mix of Burnished Gold and Mithril Silver, paint the final Highlight on the very edges of the helmet. Once again, be careful not to cover over completely the previous steps.
