SEA GUARD SHIELDS

Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 3 Stage 4

1

For this shield, we first painted the head of the sea dragon using Blazing Orange. Don't forget; if you make a mistake, you can use Skull White to clean up the edges of the sea dragon's head.

2

Next, paint the base colours of the ocean. The first colour used is Hawk Turquoise, which you then highlight with a 2:1 mix of Hawk Turquoise and Skull White.

3

Using Chaos Black, define the sea dragon's eyes and neck from the rest of the body. Also use a a mix of 1:1 Blazing Orange and Golden Yellow for other accents.

4

Finally, using successive mixes of Hawk Turquoise and Skull White, create the choppy sea around the sea dragon's neck. It's always good to start from dark to light, with Skull White being the very tips of the waves. Also, paint a few highlights as shown on the sea dragon to create the back spines and the chest of the sea dragon. Golden Yellow was used for this. Then, using a fine detail brush, use Chaos Black to paint the sea dragon's forked tongue.
