WHY COLLECT THIS ARMY?
The main reason you'd want to use this force is because the sound of thundering hooves sets fire coursing through your veins and the call of Khaine singing through your blood. That, and you like cavalry-oriented forces. If these statements apply to you, then this one is among the deadliest. Ultra-fast and highly skilled, it's the perfect army to shock your opponent with a devastating Turn-2 charge.
STRENGTHS
- Dragon Princes do not boast idly of their prowess in combat. Having 10 of them in a single unit makes them incredibly formidable, since there is a strong likelihood that they will strike home despite serious losses.
- Speed like few others. Only the Bretonnians can boast heavy cavalry as swift as the High Elves. With this force, you can strike where you choose.
AREAS OF CAUTION
- Fast, hard hitting, but – when all is said and done – still Toughness 3 Elves. This army is deadly and fragile; like so many elite forces, it simply cannot sustain heavy losses.
TACTIC: CHARGE, SMASH, KILL, REPEAT
The tactic I prefer with this army involves smashing the strongest elements of the enemy as fast as possible. Use the Dragon Princes to butcher the best regiment the enemy has, while the Silver Helms take on the second best. Sweep the flanks with the Ellyrian Reavers, looking for opportunities to flank the enemy or pick off stragglers. The Eagles are best used to redirect the foe or (in an emergency) take out war machine crews and lurking Wizards.
