GETTING STARTED WITH THE IMPERIAL GUARD
Assembling, Painting, and Playing. We take you through the steps of recruiting your own regiments of Imperial Guard to hold the line: from assembling to playing, with a sample army list to get you started.
The Imperial Guard is the largest and most diverse organisation the galaxy has ever seen. It contains billions of men from a million different worlds. Half-feral savages march alongside former hive plant workers. Men whose home was blistering desert, tropical jungle, icy steppe or desolate moor land are united under the banner of the Imperium of Man. The entire diversity of the massive Imperium is encapsulated in its ranks.

The armoured might of the Imperium is a frightening force to be reckoned
with!
Collecting, painting and fielding a brand new army for Warhammer 40,000 may seem a bit daunting at first. But fear not! On the following pages, you'll find a bunch of useful information on how to assemble your models and then give them a basic paint job with a minimal number of colours. There's even a fun scenario you can play using just a few models. This way you can be mightily entertained as you gradually amass your army.
It's time to get started, so gather your clippers, glue, and paints. Armies don't paint themselves you know!
