GETTING STARTED WITH THE IMPERIAL GUARD - CODEX: IMPERIAL GUARD

Codex: Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is the largest and most diverse organisation the galaxy has ever seen. It contains billions of men from a million different worlds. Half-feral savages march alongside former hive planet workers. Men whose homes were blistering deserts, tropical jungles, icy steppes or desolate moor lands are united under the banner of the Imperium of Man. The entire diversity of the massive Imperium is encapsulated in its ranks by choice, or more likely, by Imperial edict.

However, the power of the Imperial Guard does not lie in numbers alone. It is equipped with lumbering-but-deadly battle tanks, fast-striding walkers, and the heaviest artillery known to humanity. Whole worlds are dedicated to the production of the war machines of the Imperial Guard which, while inelegant, are fearsomely practical and deadly to the foes of the Imperium.

When building a Warhammer 40,000 army the best place to begin is its respective Codex. These books are indispensable, not only providing you with the complete rules and army lists for your army, but they also contain guides to painting, assembling, and selecting your army – plus you'll learn background that you can find nowhere else.

Codex: Imperial Guard is one in a series of Warhammer 40,000 game supplements. Each book in the series describes in detail an army, its background, and its heroes. Inside, you will find:
