VRASKÛ

Vraskû commands the legions of Scout Uruk-hai of the White Hand. A cunning and resourceful leader, Vraskû is utterly ruthless and heedless of the lives of his followers, so long as the will of Isengard is enacted.

Ty Finocchiaro: Vraskû is definitely a welcome addition to Isengard's current list of Heroes. If you do the math, he more than makes up for the points in comparison to a standard Uruk-hai Captain. How, you say? Well, let's break it down. Essentially, for a mere 5 points more than a similarly armed Captain, you get another Might point (for a total of 3), a Shoot value of 3+, and the ability to fire a crossbow twice in 1 turn. Not too shabby! Sure, you could squeeze a Defence of 7 (Vraskû has a Defence of 5) out of an Uruk-hai Captain with heavy armour and a shield for the same points value, but that's not really fitting to Vraskû's role when you think about it.

Vraskû is more suited to leading a group of Uruk-hai Scouts armed with bows. In fact, he's perfect for the job. That's not say that Vraskû is a push-over in combat – far from it. He could flatten a Rohan Captain without breaking too much of a sweat. It's just that Uruk-hai Scouts are pretty much best used as shooting troops that are versatile enough to bring the pain in combat if necessary. So, Vraskû is equally at home calling a heroic shooting action to cripple an enemy charge (especially versus cavalry) as he is at putting the crossbow away to bash some skulls with his sword. However, for the most part, Vraskû should lurk in the background, filling enemy heroes with black-feathered arrows. Any way you cut it, Vraskû rocks!
