Call Forth a Dragon!
TIPS FOR ASSEMBLING YOUR DRAGON

Page: 1|3

ADDING THE LEGS

Right Rear Leg. Now that you know how to disguise gaps with scales, it's time to get to work! From here on out, all you really need to do is glue a piece in place, wait for it to dry, fill the gap with putty, and sculpt scales. Get started with the right rear leg. Once it's in place, be sure to fill any gaps where the legs meet the body underneath the Dragon.

Left Front Leg. Repeat the gap-filing process with the left front leg, again remembering to pay attention to the area underneath the Dragon. Leave the final leg aside for the moment — it needs minimal putty work and can be left until later.

TAIL AND NECK ASSEMBLY

Tricky Tail and Neck Work. The tail should be worked on next. Take your time and be sure to sculpt your scales smartly. There are plenty of scales here to keep you busy, so be patient. Visualize and plan your scales before you set your sculpting tool to putty, and you'll come out just fine.

Don't Forget the Belly Scales! The tail and neck have gaps which split the large belly scales underneath the Dragon. Be sure to join them with putty using the sculpting skills you've gained so far.

ADDING THE WINGS

Left Wing First. Relax! The truly hard work is over with; only a few more things to take care of. The wings are a bit easier as the gaps are easily filled with a line of well-placed small scales like the ones that the red arrow points out in the photo above.

Ready for Flight. With the wings in place, your Dragon is nearly complete. It's no mistake that the wings were left unassembled until this point. If we had glued them in place earlier, it would have been much more difficult to sculpt and handle the Dragon model.

Horizontal Rule

THE FINAL LEG AND HORNS

Last Leg and Horns. Add the last remaining leg to the body using the pin-putty-super-glue combo to secure it in place. When the glue dries, fill in any gaps that are present with a quick bit of sculpting work. Finally, trim each of the horns and test-fit them into their sockets before committing with any glue. All your Dragon needs now is a base!
