NECRONS TERRAIN
The Necrontyr were once a powerful civilisation whose empire spanned the stars while the Eldar were still a fledgling race. Their architecture is ancient beyond measure and grand in scale, making for some great scenery pieces for your tabletop battlefield.
FUELLING YOUR IDEAS
Necron imagery is heavily drawn from ancient Egyptian pyramids and tombs, making
it very easy for reference material to be found in your local library or school.
Not only do you have these historical resources, but you can find a wealth of
inspiring illustrations in Codex: Necrons and from the Necron troop transport
know as the Monolith. But don't let these be your only guide. Your own imagination
can be a potent source of nightmarish imagery.

The guys in the US Studio have constructed two examples of Necron Terrain to illustrate just how easy building scenery really is. Nick Davis and Rick Smith, both working as part of the US Web Team, built these Necron structures over the course of two days. Taking away the inevitable drying time of the glue and other duties, these two could have finished their projects in a single day.
Both Nick and Rick are really excited by the new Necrons army. Nick is well known for his huge armies and evocative terrain models: he just loves to battle over great looking terrain with nicely painted miniatures. Rick was blow away by the superb artwork found in Codex: Necrons. He wanted to capture that same feeling of overwhelming dread on the tabletop. How cool would it be to have your troops appear from around the corner of a ruined Necron temple! He had to make some terrain for his own army.

Born and bred in the UK, Nick Davis slaved away making scenery for White
Dwarf Magazine, pumping out scenery projects by the bushel. Nothing has
changed now that he resides in the United States - he's still a scenery-making
madman! Nick explains his Necron
pyramid here... |
Rick 'Lobot' Smith was created in a machine shop in a galaxy far, far
away. After learning how to "draw good" at the Maryland Institute
he came to work at GW as a Graphic/Web Designer. The allure of the web
was too great and he joined the US Web Team full-time. Check
out his Necron obelisk... |
