Scenery of the East
TERRAIN FOR THE OGRE KINGDOMS

The release of the Ogre Kingdoms army marks one of the first exploratory steps into the lands to the east of the Old World. These mysterious territories open the door to new possibilities for modeling your terrain to represent the wonders of the East. This article showcases the work of various members of our US Hobby Team who volunteered to try their hands at creating some scenery for Ogres and the eastern lands.

Wagons
Here are a few examples of completed poacher caravan wagons. The tusks in the beds of the wagons were taken from a variety of Warhammer models like the Forest Dragon, Slann Mage-Priest, and the plastic Warhammer Dragon. We converted the crewmen from Empire Free Company models.

Cauldron
We added a number of characterful items on the upper platform of this cauldron. We made salt and pepper shakers from metal Siege barrels, large spoons and forks, and an assortment of other gruesome ingredients to scatter about. It’s up to you to determine what your Ogre Butcher’s culinary preferences are.

Shanty
In addition to the wedding cake pillars, plasticard, wood pieces, and plastic trees, we further embellished the shanty with a number of plastic shields and a metal ladder from the Siege range. You can see how great the plasticard tarp (warped with a heat gun) turned out after we painted it. The extra effort was well worth it when it produced these great results.

Chuck Wagon
Below, you can see some of the extra details we added to the chuck wagon’s interior. A Dark Elf Cauldron of Blood; Warhammer Siege barrels; bitz from Beastmen, Zombie, Ogre, Warhammer 40,000 Kroot, and other fiddly bitz all add to the character of the piece. We even attached a triangle to announce "come and get it” to the tribe!
