Wot a Nuttah!
PAINTING BORGUT FACEBEATER

Grimgor has found a new goal in his harsh life - to redeem himself in the eyes of Gork and reclaim his title as the baddest, meanest, hardest warlord to have ever lived! He might be able to accomplish this task if he keeps the notorious Black Orc hero Borgut Facebeater by his side.

PAINTING BORGUT FACEBEATER

Now that you've got a few Black Orcs under your belt, try a character like Borgut Facebeater! The method shown below uses just a few colours.

Tin Bitz - there is a lot of metal on Borgut and Tin Bitz will give a dark metallic undercoat.

Drybrush all the metal bitz with Boltgun Metal. This is a messy stage so getting it done first is a good idea. Next you'll want a basecoat for the skin. A good dark Black Orc basecoat can be created by using Dark Angels Green with a little Chaos Black mixed in.

3

The skin is the main worry here and receives several different highlights on the edges with first straight Dark Angels Green, followed by a mix of Dark Angels Green and Goblin Green, and finally, for the very tiniest of edges add a little Skull White to the mix. When the skin is complete you can base coat the teeth Snakebite Leather, all the leather straps in Vermin Brown, and to bring the armour highlights out a mix of Mitheril Silver with a little Skull White was used to pick out the edge of the armour plates.

4

Scab Red was added on all the various skull designs on the armour and axe as well as on the horns. After this dried a light wash with Black Ink was applied (pretty much everywhere).

5

This is mainly about highlighting the red and catching all the details you may have not highlighted yet and adding a few checks. The Scab Red was quickly highlighted with a 50/50 mix of Scab Red and Blazing Orange and then a last time lightly with the same mix of paint with a drop of Skull White added.

Teeth - whether in Borgut's mouth or worn as decoration, these are Snakebite Leather, progressively highlighted upwards in 2-3 stages with a little Skull White. Vermin Brown and Skull White are used to give a highlight to leather straps.

Checks - first paint a black stripe where you want the checks to go. Next (there is no real trick except patience and practice) paint in white checks, cleaning up your mistakes with black. The checks don't have to be perfect (ours sure aren't!) as they are painted on by Orcs after all.
