The Ork Clans
PAINTING ORK CLANS

There are six clans that have spread from one side of the galaxy to the other: the Goffs, the Snakebites, the Bad Moons, the Blood Axes, the Death Skulls and the Evil Sunz. Each has distinct cultural preferences and abilities, perhaps engineered into the Orks by the Brainboys of the distant past in an attempt to ensure a productive society. The Orks, on the other hand, work hard to ensure their society is as violent as possible.

On the following pages you will find step-by-step examples for painting the distinctive characteristics of some of the Ork clans and a Gallery of the clans as painted by the 'Eavy Metal team.

DEATH SKULLS - WAR PAINT

After undercoating your Ork model, start by painting the Death Skull Ork's skin or face Midnight Blue.

Next, highlight the skin with Enchanted Blue.

For the next highlight, mix a 1:1 ratio of Enchanted Blue and Ice Blue.

You can then highlight the blue section with a 1:1 mix of Enchanted Blue and Ice Blue.

Now using Chaos Black, paint the eyes and nose on the Death Skull face. You can also paint the rivets Chaos Black.

Lastly, paint the rivet with your choice of metallic paint. Here we used Chainmail.
