EVEN MORE DAKKA
New toyz for the Boyz! Orks have all the necessary gubbins to shoot, burn, or otherwise blast the enemy.
any players underestimate the Ork Shooting Phase due to their fairly low Ballistic Skill. What the Orks lack in accuracy, they make up for in sheer quantity of firepower. Ork firepower, whilst devastating in its own right, is perhaps best used to support the foot sloggin' Boyz who will certainly be getting the short end of the stick (or more specifically, heavy bolter rounds). It's perhaps worth thinking about what the threats are to an Ork army and how best to blast 'em to smithereens.

We Need More Gretchins! Poor, miserable gretchin. They get the short end of the stick (or boot) in everything in Ork society. But with an improved Ballistic Skill, a flurry of fire from 30 Gretchin with their Grot blastas can really take someone by surprise. Warbosses are notorious for ordering Gretchin mobz front and forward to remove minefields, but a crafty boss will remember they're an inexpensive squad that can be used to secure objectives and table quarters while the rest of the Boyz get stuck in beatin' 'eads!
FIRE SUPPORT
gainst armies that field large numbers of light infantry, such as the ranked gun lines of the Imperial Guard or the endless swarms of the Tyranids, use those units with access to template weapons and multi-shot weaponry. Against heavily armoured elite infantry, it's best to engage them in close combat with weaponry that negates their armour. The great thing about the Orks is that the same unit can usually do both these things!
Boyz with burnas are just the key to clearing a path through packed ranks of enemy troops, reducing the foe to smoldering remains as the massed number of flame templates wither large swathes of enemy infantry. The close range of a burna means these Boyz are best deployed inside a Looted Wagon or a Battlewagon where they can be redeployed to counter threats. Against heavily armoured opponents, the burna is best used as a power weapon in close combat . When combined with a Nob kitted out for close combat, Burnas are the perfect unit to counter those foes that are threatening your front lines. By upgrading some of your Boyz to Meks, you can fire the fearsome kustom mega blasta – perfect if you're going up against battle tanks or elite troops like Terminators. Make sure your Meks have plenty of ammo runts to help avoid those messy Gets Hot rolls, though . A very versatile mob, you'd have to have a squig for a brain not to field them – you haven't been talkin' to that Bad Dok again, have you?
There's no two ways about it: Lootas are dead-shooty. Their massive Deffguns can pulp entire infantry units and reduce light vehicles to scrap. Keep these ladz at the back where they can use their long range to cover the rest of your army as it slogs its way toward the enemy. Opposing heavy weapons are perhaps a priority, as not many other units in the Ork army will have the range to threaten them from Turn 1. Keep Lootas in some terrain, though. They'll certainly draw as much fire as your opponent can throw their way, and unless they can rely on some good cover saves, they'll end up in bigger trouble than a grot on mine-clearin' duty.
A mob of Lootas joined by a Big Mek with a shokk attack gun will become a very potent (if erratic) firebase. There's something about teleporting deranged snotlings inside the enemy that hugely appeals to anyone with a warped sense of humour (i.e., me). The shokk attack gun is a truly devastating weapon; the first time it fires and removes an entire unit in a single shot, you'll glow green with Orky pride.
