BUILDING ORK SCENERY
- SCRAP PILE
Orks aren't known for tidiness. When planning the next Gargant
or just gathering the spoils of war, the Greenskins pile up junk wherever
they gather in significant numbers.
Whether the Orks realise it or
not, these scrap piles make for perfect emplacements for artillery
or
troops in need of some cover.

CONSTRUCTION AND PAINTING
STEP ONE
Start by cutting out a base from hardboard and sanding the edges down.
Create a hill shape out of insulation foam and glue it in place on top
of the hardboard.
Cover the base with white glue and sand. This layer will protect the foam
from the superglue and spray primer. |
 |
STEP TWO
Take bitz and pieces from various models and glue them into place
with superglue. Stack them to look random and disorganised. Make multiple
layers
of bits to create a dishevelled look.
|
 |
STEP THREE
Once the scrap pile is built, prime it
with black spray primer and then paint it with slightly watered-down
Bestial Brown paint. Add some areas
of Scab Red throughout the pile. Drybrush with Boltgun Metal and use Chestnut
Ink to “stain” random areas.
|
 |
STEP FOUR
Finish up by gluing static grass to the base.
