PAINTING VEHICLES WITH FOUNDATION PAINTS
This article covers a few techniques and tips on painting your vehicles with the new Citadel Foundation Paints. Being a treadhead has never been easier!
IN THE BEGINNING
Painting vehicles, especially those with brightly coloured paint schemes, has always been something of a challenge. Large, flat plates like those on vehicles usually required many layers to achieve the opacity needed, even over a white undercoat. When you factor in the size of some vehicles (e.g., Land Raiders), you could burn through a ton of paint on just one tank.
Never shying away from such a challenge, hobbyists across the world produced awesome-looking paint schemes and made it look easy. We've all seen these masterpieces in White Dwarf and in the Golden Demon competitions and at our local GW Hobby Centers or other gaming venues.
ONE-COAT BLISS
All of that has changed with the arrival of the new Citadel Foundation Paints. Now, regardless of the colour of the undercoat, your basecoat goes on in one layer, not five. That will save you both paint and time when painting vehicles, which allows you to focus more time on painting cool little details like weathering and chipped armour.
