BUILD YOUR OWN TEMPLE GATE DEVOTED TO SAURON
Many years ago, Men in the East fell under the sway of Sauron's trickery. Now, even their architecture reflects that Evil allegiance.
A SHADOW IN THE EAST TERRAIN PROJECT
The architecture of the Eastern Realms of Middle-earth has developed in parallel to that of the West. Though there are some similarities, Easterling and Khandish buildings are very different from those of Gondor or Rohan. This step-by-step terrain guide shows you how to make one such structure of the East: a Temple Gate of Sauron.
Much like the Games Designers did when they wrote A Shadow in The East, we looked to real examples in East-Asian cultures for inspiration. We found what we were looking for in the various gate-shrines of Southeast Asia – these structures are deliberately minimalistic (and thus make for simpler terrain projects) and very evocative of the East (at least they were to our eyes). With a few tweaks, it became easy to see one of these Temple Gates in an Easterling or Khandish camp. Find out how to make your own Temple Gate by following the links below.
