Members of the Games Workshop Online Community have recently been submitting questions for Alessio to answer. From the hundreds of questions submitted we picked out a selection and here are Alessio's replies to them!

Screaming Bell

On rolling 13 for powering a spell, can it be any combination of dice? Say I rolled 5 dice, and I got two results of 6, a 5, a 4, and a 1; could I use the two 6 results and the 1 to equal 13?

Alessio
No, the total of all the dice you rolled must be 13.

Skaven Army BookSaferSephiroth
Which of your army books are you most proud of so far?

Alessio
Perhaps the Empire because it was the first; or the Vampires, because they have been the most difficult; or the Skaven, because they were my first army... in other words, I don't really know.

krathen
I would like to know what made you think of the Warp-lightning Cannon?

Alessio
We needed something Skryre in the Rare choices to replace the Doomwheel, and I figured that the Skaven, trying to imitate the Dwarf and Empire cannons, would come up with some big gun like that, except that it must have been warpstone-based. The same reasoning is behind the Ratling Gun
.

The Jezzail description of the Weapons Team base specifically mentions that even though they count as cavalry, they count as foot-trooper sized for targeting and LOS purposes. This wording seems to be missing from the Ratling Gun and Warpfire Thrower rules. Do these weapons also count as being foot-trooper sized?

Alessio
Yes, the generic wording for weapon teams says they count as a single character on foot for that purpose.

I enjoyed reading the Empire Army book, but I found it unnerving that the Empire has almost all the same units as those available to the Bretonnians. Have you given any thought to what you will do to give them their own flavour? Something along the lines of units rather then story?

Alessio
Cavalry on Pegasi in lance formation? No, seriously, the Bretonnians are similar to the Empire, being a Human army, but the same units perform very differently in the two armies. For example, Bretonnian Knights in comparison with Empire Templars are lighter, faster, fight in a different formation and have different special rules...

oshovah
Which army do the Skaven seem to have the most trouble with?

Alessio
I don't think this question can be answered in a straightforward way, since how an army plays is so hugely dependent on the player controlling it.
