RAT SWARMS
Countless
numbers of ravenous rats are attracted by gatherings of large numbers of Skaven.
Thus, skittering swarms of rats often accompany a Skaven army into battle to
feed on the dead and wounded. These creatures will even attack healthy armed
men, swarming over them and bearing them down by sheer weight of numbers. These
rat swarms pose a dire threat to any unlucky enough to cross their path.
The
evil adepts of Clan Pestilens use rats as vessels of contagion to spread their
lethal diseases. These animals are infected with the concoctions created by
the Plague Priests and released into the swarms of rats already accompanying
a Skaven army, where the disease spreads. Anyone bitten by one of these creatures
will succumb to the virulent fever they carry.
Rat Swarms may be added to your Skaven army as a Core choice, or they may be upgraded to Clan Pestilens Plague Rat Swarms as a Special choice.
