The Colour of Death
QUICK AND EASY CLAN PESTILENS PAINTING

Page: 1|2|3|4|5

Stage 1

STAGE 1

When painting units, it's a good idea to undercoat the entire regiment with Chaos Black Spray Paint. This primer gives you a dark basecoat on which to build up your colours and provides natural shading in the recesses. Use a large brush to paint the robes of each model in the unit and make sure that you leave the undercoat showing in the folds of cloth. You will need to paint a couple of coats to achieve a solid, flat colour on the models. To achieve the off-white colour on the robes, mix equal parts of Bleached Bone and Skull White.

Stage 2

STAGE 2

You can accomplish a pestilent appearance with ink washes. To start, mix Brown Ink with Chaos Black paint, white (PVA) glue, and water. Before painting any models, test the consistency of the mix to make sure it's not too thick. Next, take one Skaven model and apply the ink wash onto the robe. Remove any excess ink with your thumb. With the miniature still wet, take a small brush and dab spots of Green Ink onto the cloak. This technique adds a further element of filth to the model.
