STAGE 5
When painting an entire unit, it's easy to use inks to bring out any detail. Mix Chestnut Ink, Scorched Brown, white (PVA) glue, and water together, and apply it to the weapons, flesh, staffs, belts, and parchment. Remove any excess ink from the noses and fingers with your thumb. To shade the banner and scrolls, apply a mix of Dark Angels Green, Green Ink, Black Ink, white glue, and water to the models. Once again, use your thumb to remove any excess as this process will give the unit a rough texture. Finally, paint neat Red Ink onto the pustules to make them stand out.
STAGE 6
To finish the unit, you just need to add the following touches. Drybrush the weapons and chains with Chainmail. Once dry, highlight the edges of the swords with another coat of Chainmail. Apply a layer of Brazen Brass over the bells and armour. Paint the snouts, hands, and feet with a watered-down mix of Bronzed Flesh and Bleached Bone. This mix will help to make the areas of flesh stand out. Apply a watered-down Camo Green highlight to the banner and scrolls. Pick out the raised areas of the staff with a mix of Terracotta and Scorched Brown. Give the teeth and nails a highlight of Bleached Bone. Paint the tongues Scab Red.
