Ty Finocchiaro: For my second Emperor's Champion, I set out to make something completely different from the standard model we know and love, so, I built a Space Marine armed with a shield and spear. The body, head, shoulder pads, and backpack are all straightforward plastic bits from the Crusader sprue. Again, robes were important, so I chose another torso with flowing fabrics.

I picked out a force halberd from the Grey Knight Terminator Captain (Item #9947010700601) for a suitable spear. I simply grafted this spear onto an existing plastic Space Marine arm. For the shield, I sought out the largest storm shield from the plastic Close Combat Terminator sprue. I had to shave down the skull icon on the bottom of the shield to make room for a tiny shield that I added from the Crusader sprue. To add a final bit o' bling (and provide an energy supply to the shield), I attached a small length of guitar wire between the shield and backpack after drilling slots in both. Once dry, I turned over the model to the capable hands of Dave Taylor for painting.
