David Robinson: I had two requirements for my Emperor's Champion. One was a suitable body with plenty of robes and purity seals. The second was to find a way for him to be issuing a challenge to somebody. Luckily, all the great new bits that have come down the pipeline recently made my job a lot easier. I started off with the body of Space Marine Veteran 5 (Item #9947010130005). I love this pose, and the versatility it allows for arm and weapon choices. The Space Marine Command sprue provides a pointing finger that suits my "challenge" concept perfectly.

I wanted to stray away from the traditional Black Sword and decided that my Champion was to end his challenges with the business end of a power hammer. The weapon from Captain Cortez (Item #9947010700101) was too good to resist. I shaved off the Inquisition symbols and added an Imperial icon along with a purity seal to make it a little more personal. A Space Marine arm hacked off at the wrist gave it a natural pose. I topped off the arms with two of the many great new Black Templars shoulder pads, one depicting the Templar iconography, the other with more tabards (surprise, surprise).

For the backpack, I removed the exhaust vents and replaced them with great little flaming pots from the Black Coach (Item #9947020706809). A small icon from the Inquisitor Tyrus Sigil sprue (Item #9947139901110) added the needed flair to finish off the model. After that dried, I painted the model to match my army.
