Of all the mighty Space Marine Chapters, the Black Templars are the most numerous and widespread. They are fearless champions of the Emperor and unforgiving crusaders against His enemies and those of Mankind. In the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, the Black Templars were forged as one of the untested successor Chapters to the Imperial Fists Space Marines. To prove their loyalty and prowess, the new Black Templars launched crusades across the galaxy. Ten thousand years later, they continue to bring the sword in the name of the Emperor.
When building a Warhammer 40,000 army, the best place to begin is with its respective Codex. Lastly, Codexes contain the army's background story, which gives you a glimpse into what makes the army interesting.
