CREATING A GUIDE LINE FOR SANDING
This step is relatively easy. Stick a long strip of masking tape to a clean cutting mat. Use a ruler and a hobby knife to cut the wide piece of tape into long, thin strips of tape measuring approximately 1/8" tall. The reason for cutting these strips is simple: thicker pieces of tape are awkward to work with and tend to crease and bunch up. Plus, you can easily force thinner pieces into surface details without the wrinkling of tape.
Once you have marked the proper angle for your submerged tank, trace along the bottom of the tape with a permanent felt-tipped pen. Remove the tape and you are ready to proceed to the next step: Sanding Down the Whirlwind.
