Inspiration and Devotion
PAINTING SPACE MARINE CHAPLAINS

Space Marine Chaplains are awe-inspiring warrior-priests who serve as the spiritual leaders of their Chapters. On the tabletop, these deadly characters are often the centrepiece of an entire army. In order to give them the respect that they are due, a masterful paint job is required.

To help guide those who wish to paint their Space Marine Chaplains well, Black Gobbo has gathered some of the finest painters that Games Workshop has to offer. Rick Smith, Dave Taylor, Jason Buyaki, Rich Curren, and Stuart Spengler are all expert painters. In this article, they document the steps they took to transform a small piece of metal into a piece of art.

Below, there are links to the five Chaplains that each hobbyist painted to Golden Demon standards. Once inside, click on the image links to see an even larger picture of the circled area. Many of these larger images include explanations of how the painter managed to create the depicted look.
