HOW'D HE DO THAT?
ARMOUR
I basecoated the armour with Bestial Brown and added several highlights by adding successively more Skull White to the brown with each highlight. For the green details, I started with Dark Angels Green and highlighted by adding Bleached Bone to the green. I highlighted the Chaos Black parts with a mixture of Codex Grey and Chaos Black.
DETAILS
I painted the freehand details with Snakebite Leather and highlighted with a mixture of Snakebite Leather and Skull White. The upside down "V" is one of several ways the Imperium identifies its Devastator units.
To represent the kills this Space Marine has achieved, I used simple hash marks on the side of his weapon. I painted them with Snakebite Leather and highlighted with a mixture of Snakebite Leather and Skull White.
