Labours of the Earth Caste
BUILDING TAU AND KROOT SCENERY

The clean architecture of the Tau is completely different to the gothic buildings of the Imperium.

With our first look at Tau terrain we explore one of their cities. This Tau terrain table came to life at the US Games Day as a terrain making demostration by JB & Tracy Coulter from GW Canada.

They continued their Tau terrain project and finally completed it just in time to be displayed at Canadian Games Day. The entire display is a massive 4' x 12' board, featuring the outskirts of a Tau city in the middle of an overgrown jungle.

You will be suprised to know that the entire city is constructed out of foam, installation board, bits of plastic and various easy to find objects - ranging from plastic spoons to cardboard tubes.

Let's take a closer look at the amazing Tau table - click on the images to enlarge them.

The Imperial Guard assault the city walls. Note the jungle is made out of plastic aquarium plants.

The Kroot advance using the cover of the monorail. The Coulters were inspired by the piece of fiction in the Codex Tau, that describes a Tau city.

JB took the design of the Tau Drones and enlarged it to make this impressive Tau communication array.

The city square is a great example of using a races symbols to make a centre piece.

The City TableNext: take a closer look at how the Coulters made their Tau city. As they present a simple stage by stage of how to build a Tau building.

Also coming up is a Tau outpost terrain project for you to have a go at.
