Gandalf casts Blinding Light to guide and
protect his companions. |
An early threat to the Fellowship appears in the form
of a Goblin Captain and spear-wielding Goblin. |

The Goblin Captain charges forward with support, rolling
three dice. Caught off guard, Gimli fumbles his attacks. |
After losing the combat and taking a Wound despite a
Might-boosted roll, Gimli retreats to Legolas' side. |

Suddenly, a chasm appears to halt the Fellowship in its
tracks. Can they make the jump? |
The chasm seriously hampers the progress of the fleeing
Fellowship as they slowly navigate the gap. |

Meanwhile, to make matters worse, the roar of a Cave
Troll marks its entrance in the distance. |
Protecting the rear of the party, Legolas drops the Goblin
Captain with a single volley of arrows. |
The cavern shakes as a second fear-inducing chasm appears
before the Fellowship. Aragorn and Boromir make it with ease, but what
about the rest? |
In a strange reversal of roles, Gimli manages to
help Legolas across the yawning chasm after the Elf fails a simple
Jump test. "Not
the hair!" |

Recovering his wits after his close call, Legolas returns
some Goblin bow fire to kill two distant Goblin Archers with deadly accuracy. |
Once more, Legolas botches a Jump roll, and — fresh
out of Might points — he plummets to his death as Gimli and Sam
watch in horror. So passes Legolas Greenleaf... |

Gandalf attempts a Sorcerous Blast that
would easily knock the Cave Troll out of the way... and botches it. |
Calling a heroic combat, Aragon slices through a
Goblin Archer with ease and charges the Cave Troll. |
Aragorn tangles with the Troll...
...and he wounds and pushes back the beast.

Seizing the advantage, Boromir and Aragorn tag-team the Troll and
kill it without a problem.
With the Troll out of the way, things are looking up for the Fellowship,
as nothing but Goblins lie ahead.

Unfortunately, Aragorn, weary after so much battle, underestimates
his foe and falls to a Goblin Captain.
Did someone order a Cave Troll? Yet another angry beast charges towards
the reeling heroes.

Sam falls to massed Goblin bowfire and Gandalf is wounded. An enraged
Gimli makes his way forward.
The tide surges forward, intent on adding Boromir and Gandalf to
the pile of casualties.
Boromir slays the Goblin Captain and prepares to take on another
Cave Troll. Meanwhile, Gandalf wins his combat to make room for Gimli.
Before Gimli and Boromir charge, Gandalf successfully casts Sorcerous
Blast, knocking the Troll back 5" as well as killing a Goblin in
the way.

Seeing their chance to eliminate the Troll with double strikes, Gimli
and Boromir charge towards the nearly helpless, knocked-down Cave Troll...
...and, in a dice roll heard 'round the world, completely lose the
combat. At the bark of a Goblin Captain, the lucky Troll retreats to
make room for more skilled warriors.

Two Goblin Captains charge into combat, absolutely mauling both Gimli
and Boromir in one swift round.
Surrounded by dying friends and left alone against a tide of
Evil, Gandalf is finished. Game over!
