FORCES OF EVIL POST-GAME CONCLUSIONS

My plan changed a little bit when Ken missed the first Black Dart and took a Wound early on. Suddenly, I saw that maybe I could take out Gandalf with enough of this spell. I just needed to get a few more Ringwraiths onto the table. The folly of this hope soon became apparent after missing a whole bunch of Black Dart rolls, thus wasting precious Will Points. So, I went back to the original plan of Transfixing Gandalf each time I won priority. I did end up winning priority a bunch, but the problem was that I couldn't roll a 3 or higher in order to get the Transfix spell to work.
Then, Gandalf started cutting Ringwraiths down one by one. When I eventually managed to roll high enough for a fourth Nazgûl to appear, it became apparent that with three Ringwraiths down and one more to go for Ken to win, I needed to bring the Witch-king on the board. However, this was the point when Ken decided he would start rolling nothing but 6s and the occasional 5. The Witch-king dropped a ton (4 Will points) on a Black Dart that scored a 6. Ken laughed, rolled a single dice, and dispelled it with a 6. To return the favour, he then Transfixed the Witch-king and engaged him in combat and rolled a 6. Somehow, Ken didn't follow this with a roll high enough to slay the Witch-king and end the game.
Instead, Ken cruelly filled me with false hope as he lost priority and allowed me to attempt another Transfix. Predictable as ever, this spell didn't work out very well. I figured at this point that moving into combat was my best option, as there was a slight chance that another Ringwraith might show up after this Move phase and lend a hand. Well, we all know that didn't happen, so combat began. Ken rolled a 6, and I rolled a 6. The tie-breaker for the combat came up 6 in Ken's favour, followed by – you guess it – a 6 to wound. You can't do much against that kind of dice play.
During the Recovery phase, I totally dropped the ball and rolled pretty poorly for my Ringwraiths. One of 'em is practically useless with a mere 3 Will points. Good thing the same was happening to Ken. When the dice were finished dropping, Gandalf was down 1 Wound and 1 point of Fate. So, I suppose Sauron's will was done this day after all, in some small way at least. Anyway, there's always next time!
