With Wargs coming from the north, south, and west, Bryan
moved the Fellowship toward the eastern board edge. Frodo was protected
in the middle by a hexagon of able-bodied defenders. |
While slowly moving to the east, both Aragorn and
Legolas let loose their arrows. First blood went to the Fellowship
when a Warg
to the south fell to one of Legolas's accurate shots. |

|

|
After too few turns of moving toward the east, shooting
as they went, the Fellowship prepared themselves for the coming encounter.
Gandalf Immobilized a Warg, while the rest of the group changed
formation. |
The Fellowship was assaulted by eight Wargs in their
first mêlée. While Sam was charged by more than his fair share,
he managed to win and dispatch one. The rest sent three more Wargs to
their deaths
with little effort. |

|

|
Ty wanted to make the most of his Warg Chieftain,
so he manoeuvred it for a few turns before throwing it up against
Legolas.
Unfortunately, Bryan won the next Priority roll and assigned Aragorn
the task of confronting the terrifying beast-leader. |
Up to the task, Aragorn finished off what Legolas
started and slew the Warg Chieftain. Even Frodo joined the fray by
slaying one
of the five Wargs that the Fellowship slew in this encounter. Alas, Legolas
was wounded in his confrontation and was a single Wound from death. |

|

|
With the Wargs reappearing on a board edge as fast
as the noble warriors could kill them, the Fellowship was in a struggle
against time. Would their endurance and characteristic points hold out
until the end of the game? |
Five turns and 18 dead Wargs after the death of the
Warg Chieftain, the first sign of weakness in the Fellowship appeared.
Swarmed
by enemies, Sam failed his Fate roll and was too injured to continue
fighting. |

|

|
After losing priority, Bryan used Aragorn's free
Might point to declare a heroic move. He used this pre-emptive move
to reorganise
his defence of Frodo as another wave of Wargs broke on The Fellowship's
ranks. |
Eleven Wargs confronted the party, with three taking
on a weakened Legolas. Just one turn after the death of Sam, the Prince
of Mirkwood fell to the tooth and claw of the Wargs. Frodo's allies grew
thin... |

|

|
With only five warriors remaining, the Fellowship
formed up in a diamond around Frodo. Bryan left just enough room to
avoid being
considered Trapped. The Wargs surrounded the party and began their furious
assault. |
With the death of Sam and Legolas powering their
blades, Bryan's warriors slaughtered almost every Warg in the combat.
The four
defenders killed eight Wargs in one turn and gave themselves some valuable
breathing room. |

|

|
For four more turns, waves of Wild Wargs charged
into battle against the stoic defenders. In order to win combats, the
Fellowship
had used up almost all of their Might points and were beginning to go
through their Fate points. |
After sixteen turns, the game finally ended — much
to the relief of Bryan, whose warriors were getting perilously close
to
defeat. In the end, The Fellowship had killed 56 Wargs but had seen both
Sam and Legolas fall to the Wargs. |
