The battered Fellowship makes for the Bridge of Khazad-dûm,
with the Balrog (and thousands of Goblins...) hot on their heels. |
A vanguard of Goblins streams forth, while a Goblin Captain
screeches the order to block off the intruders' escape route. |

|

|
Goblin Archers single out Gandalf, but the Blinding
Light spell makes him nearly impossible to hit. |
Bryan calls a heroic move to get a jump on the crashing
wave of Goblins on either side of the Heroes. |

|

|
The wave arrives, but the Heroes remain just out
of harm's reach. The next Priority roll will be important, as the Goblins
could
move onto the bridge first and block any progress. |
Bryan loses priority and has to call a heroic move...
as does Ty. The dice comes up "5" to allow Bryan to move
first, thus dashing any possibility of a blocking action. |

|

|
Unfortunately, Sam's tiny legs can't keep up the pace,
and he is quite alone as a rearguard. |
The Goblin onslaught is brutal and slays Sam, while Gimli
and Aragorn have no problem taking care of their foes. |
 |
 |
Suddenly, Aragorn's mind begins to crumble under the
strain of bearing The Ring. Bryan has to spend 2 Will points to boost
a Courage roll to keep Middle-earth safe. |
Meanwhile, the Goblins charge at Gimli and nearly surround
him. A Goblin Captain leads the attack along with three other Goblins.
This could be bad... |

|

|
Gimli is knocked off balance under the sheer weight
of the horde. Maybe this is why he lost the combat so spectacularly.
Ty
needs lots of 5s and 6s to kill the little tank, but he has to settle
for a single Wound instead. Once again, the next turn's Priority roll
is key. |
Bryan loses priority and calls for a heroic move.
Ty does the same with his last Might point. This time, the dice favour
Evil.
The Goblins move forward, locking the heroes in combat and crushing any
hope of a game-winning Sorcerous Blast upon the weakened bridge. |

|

|
Combat goes very, very, very, very badly for Bryan — Gimli
and Aragorn fall to the blades of the chittering mass. |
Once more, Gandalf is the last to survive the scenario.
Can The Fellowship recover from this defeat? |
