FORCES OF EVIL POST-GAME CONCLUSIONS

Ty Finocchiaro
Nazgûl Finocchiaro
Ty: Balrogs? We don't need no Balrogs!

Over the course of the entire game, Bryan and I could not roll a combined total of 7 or more (in order to get the Balrog on the table) during the Priority roll. So, it looked like things were going Bryan's way. No Balrog, no problem. Right? Wrong. My Goblins did tremendously! Forget the Balrog! The Goblin Captains offered me the opportunity to attempt key heroic moves and really helped to kill Gimli. The standard Goblins, though worthless during the Shoot phase, made mincemeat out of Sam and Aragorn. I couldn't ask for more from a bunch of 5-point warriors. That, of course, was before the Recovery phase came around.

Aragorn, Gimli, and Sam all fell into shadow (their corpses tossed into the yawning blackness of the chasm...) after an awesome string of very sad Recovery rolls. Only one D6 out of seven came up the required 4+ for Wound recovery. Being the truly Evil player, I forced Bryan to re-roll it. This forced re-roll was my prerogative for winning the scenario. In particular, this roll was for Sam, my eternal nemesis — the re-roll came up "3." My joy at finally terminating Sam was tremendous. Forget Aragorn and Gimli — Sam has been laughing at my efforts since the first scenario! It was time for the gardener to pay for that.

Well, that'll do it: the Fellowship (and The Ring, I suppose) has been lost in Moria. With everyone dead and Gandalf busy with the Balrog, we decided to call this result the end of the campaign. I had completed my Hobbit corpse collection and utterly crushed the Fellowship for my lord, Sauron. Rest assured, I'll sleep well tonight with the satisfaction of a job well done. All hail Sauron!
